Originally BMW delivered the early 316's with a 36Ah battery! You should be more than fine with your current example.

Unbelievable!
I thought they would at least give a 45Ah one!!
However, this is why I am wondering, as the Alternator is (or I think it is) of the same capacity as the old one, is that enough for the more powerful batteries of today?
