I dont hink the m52 mounts are any good, 323 clocks cant hurt though a few extra mph on the clock allso for the
rev counter if u dont have one.
Im now doing this conversion so this thread may come in handy :thumbsup

Thanks for the offer i will keep it in mind, just done a 7 hour round trip to pick my engine up!
Im nearly there on the parts i need, still looking for e34 sump oil pick up and dipstick tube( i shouldve grabbed these when they were plentiful :hammer)
oh and the m50 manifold as the m52 intake side is the only part im unsure of so i might aswell get it out of the way.
I should have a few things left over when ive got everything together so i might be able to help you out too

Can any one tell me what is the best option. I have a m50 lump all ready in my car and I have a m52 2.8 that I was told was heating up don't know what is wrong yet. Can I put my m50 head on the bottom of the m52. and run it using all my electrionis that is there or am I better starting from scratch

Yes you need 6 cyl rev counter, you can keep original speedo.

Theres a couple of ratty rear axles on ebay.

You can swap heads as they are the sane if you got vanos.

I know a bit on the high side.maybe get in contact with him see if hes willing to barter. The arms is all you need realy and an arb if your doing the rear brakes anyway. On another m52 note does anyone know what i can get rid of from the intake side of my 2.8,things like the purge valve and the secondary air pump.i will be installing the m50 manifold so any simplification of the intake mess would be good

yes dump all that oil canister rubbish in the bin and run an oil catch tank. do your research, you can get a conversion kit which is about 50 quid though.

You need a 6cyl rev counter because its a 6 cylinder engine - your m10 rev counter will be flying all over the place with the extra pulses.

Im going to use 316 arms, remove the drums and make a brake caliper bracket and use vag calipers or something with a handbrake function builtin,

you can get an ARB from W&N for about 50 quid.

Thanks, glad i can get rid of some of it. Ive spent hours researching this maybe im looking in the wrong places.
I ve seen the conversion kits for the m50 intake, i have most of those things in my shed, the only part they seem to
offer that i cant easily find is the throttle body to manifold seal. i allso wasnt sure if i needed to keep an eye on what
i have removed for when the ecu is modified re deleting things
