I know a lot of you guys have done this successfully.
I have the same set up but I occasionally have starting problems and think it's down to the battery being relocated.what grade wire from where do you use?
And do you use one live to the boot,
a earth in there for the battery and all the other lives in the bay get moved to the starter minus one negative,it just seems to not want to start sometimes but battery is charged and is only a year old I ran it up and down the dual carrage way today it seemed a lot more full of life,I only do 8 mile to work and 8 back on court roads and lots of town pottering about.but this shouldn't be that much of a issue I belive it might be the location of the battery,if it helps I will use any advice you have to see if I can improve the relocation
Battery relocation
Re: Battery relocation
could you use the cabling from a e36 that has the battery in the boot already?

Yeah. OEM E36 cable is what you need.

Re: Battery relocation
I used an E30 wire and terminal for my relocation. Fit just right!

Re: Battery relocation
I used 25mm2 (I think that's 3 AWG - the copper strands are about 6 mm diameter) and it was just enough. Ran it directly to the starter motor and then from there to the other connections.
