Wheel fitment

Hi guys, I've some Stuttgart ST7 15x8 Et25 on order to fit onto my E21 316 lowered 40mm

Will these fit? If not, what spacers/arch rolling/tyre stretches would make them fit?

What tyres would be best?

Should've checked before ordering them.... d'oh!

these are 15x8 so i think you'll need 25mm spacers to get zero offset

10mm or 25?, I know you're allowed an ET16 but thats with 6J wheels Is that on front and back or just front? And I assume I'll need bolts that are also 25mm longer right?

I was thinking of going with a 185 tyre and stretching that to avoid it rubbing against the arches, I dont mind stretching the trye but I really dont want to roll the arches

One of my cars came on 17x8 et 27. Small spacer 5 or 10 mm at the back that was all. Think tyres were 205/40. Check my thread on the pastell blau.

That's right, wheels will fit on the back with small spacers. Front is different story, I think the wheels will hit the tie rod ends

ah yes, I guess that depends on the shape of the inside of the wheel. Mine were BBS reps

Pretty much all 17" wheels would clear the tie rods anyway. The rim ID is outside the tie rod so they can sit over them.
Some 16" wheels will clear as well (depends on the shape), most won't.
But 15" definitely needs to be spaced to miss the tie rods at the front.

I seem to remember the minimum you need for a 7"x15" is ET13 or less.

Therefore 8" would add ½" (12.7mm) from the mounting face so probably needs to be ET0 on the front, which for you would require 25mm spacers and longer bolts.

Also worth mentioning that I'd recommend hub centric spacers only.
Helps reduce any wheel wobble/balance issues you may get running the spacers.

Mine are 8x15 bbs rm's up front and I use a 10m spacer could probably use less but 10m looked fine

Thanks guys, got some Toyo Proxies in the 195/45/15 as suggested, along with the 10mm spacers, I'll get them on and have a fiddle around see what happen, will post pics when shes done

Just tried fitting them with the 10mm spacers, they catch the Track Rods ends. Really a PITA as they only start to catch once I tighten the bolts on the last turn or two, meaning I only need a few more mm clearance. Onwards and upwards with refunds and 15mms! Or 13s if I can find them

Anybody wise to the law regarding how much your wheels can stick out

As long as tread is in the arch but Don't worry about it ive been pulled and mates and you have to have a producer then just go to mot station with different wheels no real biggie

Right, up to my tits with this now, 15mm spacers fitted, still catching tie rod ends,

Filed down the tie rod ends on the offending corner by hand, still catching, albeit significantly 'improved' catching

Tracking/alignment booked for Saturday, will get it aligned, TREs tightened and in position, then I plan on power filing the life out of those b*****ds until they dont catch

Has anybody got any experience with this, I know it may not be best practice, but I am really at a loss as to what to do

Bigger spacers aren't an option (I've ordered 4 different sets of security studs and don't want togo through all of that hassle)

Is it a really bad idea or will I get away with it?

Worth noting I have chunkier than stock tie rod ends fitted
