The wife bought me a e46 estate car a couple of weeks ago and the engine started to tick on saturday after a run over to recks house .So i changed the oil and filter on sunday morning and this is the oil filter....(just hope i changed them in time to save the motor)

Seen that on many engines from the M50 family already. No need to change them and if you do, don't waste a mind boggling 8 euros on an original example. You can easily save 1 or 2 bucks there! Horrible isn't it, people want a bimmer in front of the house but don't have a tenner to spare.
