Wheel fitment 15x7.5

Post by dr3wid »

Hi all

I've read the FAQs and many threads in search of some answers, and I know the recommended 15inch wheel size is 15x7 with ET of 13. However I just wanted to check before taking the dive on some 15x7.5 with an ET of 9. Would these fit with out arch / fender modification? or is there possibilities of them fouling. Also I would like to lower it slightly which Ive hear would alleviate potential scrub, due to the shocks been racked backwards.

They are a set of Oz Turbos, and not really cheap but I've been after some for some time. Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers

I may be mistaken, and someone here may be able answer you because they have done precisely this, but in general there is only one true answer which is that you must try yourself to be 100% sure.

Thanks for reply, and yes I totally hear you. Unfortunately I don't have that luxury before buying and don't know of anyone with this wheel set which I could carry out a test fitting.

thanks again

From my calculations the 7.5 et9 would move the outer rim of the wheel out 10mm and move the inner rim in approx 3 mm compared with 7 et13.

I have a set of mims on my e21 which I think are 7 et13.
There's spacers all around, on the front these are >10mm (possibly 12 or 13mm I can't remember) and the wheel is almost flush with the arch but with decent room between the wheel and the track rod end.
So I reckon it'll be a close fit at the front, although you might need a small spacer to clear the track rod end.

The rears on mine have larger spacers (possibly 15mm) so I think with a smaller spacer you may be good to go. I don't think there's a rubbing issue on the inside of the rears but not 100%

I'll want to see pics of how this develops! :)

That would be my guess as well, for must types it would be real tight or needing a 5mm spacer
