Hi all
I'm looking at changing the auto choke (water) on my weber dgas carb to a manual choke, as seen here: http://www.webcon.co.uk/shopexd.asp?id=2484
I'm just wondering where to mount the choke handle/knob inside the car though.... has anyone done this before? Or could anyone show me photos of their manual choke (inside the car, not engine bay) please?
Cheers
Dave

I do not have the picture but when i had the Dgas i placed the chokeknob next to the steering wheel where you can set the digitalclock in the dashboard.

Thanks Peter... okay and it looked pretty good there? not too 'non-original'?Peter V. wrote:I do not have the picture but when i had the Dgas i placed the chokeknob next to the steering wheel where you can set the digitalclock in the dashboard.
Also, did you find the installation fairly simple? No need to remove the dash entirely?
Thanks
Dave

Re: Manual Choke Installation
It looked semi original (offcourse i have a type 2 E21).
The installation was no problem but then i work at carbs often. The chokecable came in the car at the same hole then the heater hose/cables.
You need to remove the plastic cover around the counterunit and drill a hole in that. The installation of the carb itself is easy.
