What are your winter plans?
Winter means storage. At least that's what it comes down to here in Europe when snow comes out and they start throwing destructive quantities of salt on our roads to try and keep the average idiot on the road. So that's usually the time to take on larger maintenance or other projects. Planning special work for this winter?
Over here the Baur has survived the Alps, Eifel and other trips quite well. The rear suspension top bearings are rattling very slightly every now and then so I guess they're up for replacement but that's not even a big job. I still need to send the diff in for an overhaul but apart from that there isn't much I can think of. And you?

Here are mine - without being sure that I will manage to realise all of them in this winter :
Have the dash taken out in order to fix a couple of issues:
1) The noise produced somewhere around the midpoint fixing (of the dash) on the body as well as some other noises which I think are coming from the clocks (tacho-rpm clock etc) area
2)fit the digital gauges
3) a couple of othe small works
While the dash is out, have the front windshield taken out and fix some rust that has appeared some years ago on the frame under the windshield, where the water ends when washing using the wipers. Refit the windshield with fresh rubbers and chrome fittings etc.
Also - would like to add some sound proofing on the under dash parts of the cars body - it would be a good occasion while the dash is out.
Then, have the driver's recaro re trimmed, it is almost ready to spit its inside out!
After finishing all the above, I may replace speakers and under seat subwoofer (20 years old and started producing some noises)
Also, my feeling is that the car needs suspension, but I may leave this for next year.
I guess I will not yet touch the engine - although I want badly something with more power.
It runs really well at the moment, especially with the better electric current-electronic ignition, spark plugs etc., and I am very reluctant in replacing something that works well-I am not giving up looking into the matter though

In my case, finish it off first ! As said in the wanted section, its been 2 steps forward, 1 step back lately. I still intend to use this as my everyday car, the whole underside has been bodyshutz'd and sills and box sections treated with Bilt Hambers wax treatment ( and the garage floor too - note to self - put papers down before injecting body wax ! )

Hi there, I plan to put my car in the garage in the winter with maybe a heater or two in an attempt to prevent any rust getting started. I will fully clean and dry the car before it goes into the garage.
I plan to service it, oil, filters, spark plugs. I'm going to set the valve clearances, replace the clutch slave cylinder since it's leaking and I might lower it. I had lots more that I wanted to do but well I can't afford to do it all.
I'd really like a new interior but haven't yet decided on what seats I'll use. Was thinking Porsche tombstones but I'm not so sure anymore. Any ideas?
Other than the above, I'll just be looking forward to next summer when I get to drive it again!

The e21 323i is at the painters. I'll expect it back early February, so I can start on the first things to put it together.
The e30 325iA cabrio will recieve a complete new undercarriage. New Bilstein b6 with new topbearings, front and rear Eibach anti roll kit, all new silentblocks, bushes. Also a new strut bar under the bonnet and the front subframe reinforcement. The subframe will be sandblasted and painted.
If I ever find the right gearbox to this great e30, I will change the drive shaft bearing also, aswell as the rubber mounting for the diff. But that'll be some other winter.

Why don't you convert it to manual Koos .. No more aut transmission issues

Now waiting for my recaroseats to come back from upholstery so i can close the innerpart of the car.
Plan is to replace the original springs for Eibach this winter and maybe replace the end exhaustpart with the supersprint version.

1. I'm a sucker for the original, and this is how she's build
2. It's my cabriolet, smooth ride with autobox, it suits the car fine

mines getting the engine replace,any rust i find removed and repaired and the engine bay painted. if all that goes well then i might start preping the whole car for a respray, sort the suspension and replace the roof, then its on to the interior.

This is probably the last winter the car stays on the driveway, for next year we're looking for some winter rally's.
During winter some little work will be done like:
replacing the subframe for a modified one which gives wider track and extra negative chamber
fitting a sump guard, because we like driving classic rally's and that means gravel and forrest roads are included
fitting a oil pressure and oil temp sensor
adding oil pressure and temp readout to the display unit
adding some more rally equipment like map reading light and a switch panel
fitting a choice switch for the ECU with two settings: "ECO" or "FUN"
fitting a pair of huge additional driving lights would be nice too.
