Its going to be the setup from my previous car.

An E9/E12 sideloader LSD with modified ramp angles.
Driveshafts are custom made in EN24 with GKN Motorsport CV's and aero boots.
Custom propshaft with sliding joint to prevent transmission shunt.
The diff top mount is a BMW part for an early E24.

I guess its about time I updated this.

The paintshop has been taking a long time, but now we have some good progress, I'm picking the shell and doors up tomorrow and the other panels will be next week.

Thanks Jim, that is one of your bent front panels on there as well. Came out quite good even though it will be covered by the Zender front.

I'm still going to try and keep the colour under wraps (greys) until Sharknose, and hope it doesn't get spotted when trailering to the exhaust shop and for mapping.

I'm pleased with how it has turned out, nice a shiny with the stripes painted on under the laquer (no vinyl in sight).

Now comes the hard work of trying to piece it all back together.

Wow Ben... super clean job there.
What are the modified ramp angles? or should i say what angle did you machine them to?
any extra plates?

I have a spare side loader spool I bought a while ago to play with for this exact reason? just wondering what you did and how it changed the car?

Thanks Martin

Hi Martin,

I originally had an open Sideloader that was welded up, then had a csl lsd rebuilt with the new ramps (I think 30° in and out rather than the standard 45°).
So only drove it with the welded unit then the modified ramps.

My LSD came from an early csl with bolt in output flanges not the push fit type.
This cannot have extra plates added. The lsd end plate is the other end of the unit compared to later lsd's. There is no meat to machine off for extra plates.

Hope this helps
