E21 316 (82) running problem woes!

Any new results? As you are using the 32/36, maybe you should check the diaphragm, which is inside the carb. Did you have a look on it?

It's been a while since I last posted, but I still have the same issue! Last week I replaced the weber carb with a known good carb from another car, and it is still the same! Now, if I pull away quickly the problem starts straight away, it starts losing power straight away, if I floor it it goes ok, otherwise it stutters along. To pull away from standstill I have to floor it, otherwise it will stall, idling, if I slowly give it some revs it will lose power at about 2k revs and stall, unless I floor it.
If I turn it off/on a few times eventually it will reset and run ok again until next time!

I have replaced all ignition parts, including Bosch coil, ignition module, plugs, leads, cap and rotor arm (all correct and original parts) and now the carb too (with a weber 32/34).
Really not sure what to do next, any ideas?

I'd check that the earth strap is clean and well connected, the one next to the battery tray... and also the condition of the vacuum hoses for an air leak there.

And as you've ruled out the carb, I'd be testing the fuel pump and looking for blockages along the line... some have in-line filters hidden away, could be blocked.

Agree, fuel pump may not be turning out enough, but please note it doesn't necessarily have the be the pump itself, its driven by a dedicated lobe on the cam which may be worn down
