Hi,
I want to adjust the timing on the bm but the distributor is stuck due to corrosion and won't rotate. Released the clamp bolt , tried spraying it with WD40 and tapping but it still won't move.
Anybody else experienced this or know how to free it ?
The best stuff to this is http://www.kanolabs.com/ if you cant get it try mix AT Dexron oil with Acetone nail cleaner 50/50 it is Wery powerful stuff to loosen stuck metal.....
had the same problem on my distributor, just sprayed wd40 + large spanner on the flat sides at the base of the distributor housing till it was a bit loose then just slowly knocked the rest of it loose gently with a rubber mallet.... seems like the engine block paint + some corosion was holding it int but once it moved a few mm up it was all loose and free quite quickly...
