Instrument Lighting wiring.

Post by Bigmeat »

Car is a Type 1 316 Baur. April 1979. Converted to RHD.

Can anyone help me with the wiring for lighting up the 'Light', 'Fog Light', 'Rear Heater' labels on the dashboard trim?

I've finally tracked down the correct type 1 trim piece, for around the instrument binnacle. Thanks Kyle aka Nuke Laars.

The trim has 2 black wires that end in a Blue double bullet type connector, for lighting up the switch labels.

Can anyone tell me what colour wires this attaches to? My car was converted to rhd and the wiring is 'somewhat jumbled' (read :- 'a right fuxin mess').

I don't want to just splice this in anywhere, so if I can find out what it connects to I'll see if I can repair the wiring.

i'll be getting back into the carcass of my E21 sometime this week. the dials are currently out so I could get you some pictures of the loom and connectors from that area if that's of any use to you?

That'd be great, thanks. Mine's a terrible mess.
