Hi, I recently bought an e28 520i. It starts get from cold, but when you come back to it after a while it cranks over a lot before firing.
To be fair it's never not started, but it cranks for so long you think it isn't!
I changed the coil, as thought that could be less efficient when it was hot, not it didn't make any difference.
I've also bought a new coolant temp sensor, but haven't fitted it yet.
Any other ideas guys?
Warm start problem.

Re: Warm start problem.
Could be leaking fuel injectors more or less flooding the engine. Does it start faster when started with full throttle ? Carefull not to keep your foot on the pedal once the engine comes on haha. If it starts, how good does it run? Excessive fuel smell from the exhaust?

Thanks for the reply guys. But I sold it today! I'll get a few pics up when I get 5, but I was super impressed with it. So clean and smooth for the age (and price!).
