I think i may have decided to change the old Bosch setup on my M20B25 to a set of sidedraughts. I have done alot of theese back in the day on both 4 and 6 cylinder engines, so the tech stuff is not an issue.
However, converting the M20B25 to a carburatted version may be. I have the complete ignition set of the old carburated M20B20 and are planning to use this. On the M20B25 the hole in the block exist for this, but will the ignition run if i installe it? I have googled it a bit and it seems that the Germans call it the "zwischenwelle". Its the shaft that runs the oil pump. Will i need to change this ?
Hope some of you M20 guys know your stuff
On the other cars i have owned i have never experienced a power increase when installing Webers or Dellorto´s under 10bhp. Even a 1,3 liter VW got another 10hp. How does the M20 react to a set of sidedraughts ? My old Opel Monza 3,0 (179bhp) got just over 200 with this setup, a better flowing exhaust manifold an 2,5" exhaust). So expectations are a bit high
