Hi guys !
Has anyone ever built an m10 turbo ? As I'm goin down that route.
I want around the 500+ bhp mark even upto 700bhp mark, money is not a problem I just need to know what I'll need to build a monster turbo! Cheers

not built one myself but I have been eyeing up the this idea since having started working on the brake servo relocation for my E21. ditching that ridiculous remote bracket OEM arrangement and moving the Servo to the firewall has made potential real estate for a turbo...

This thought has also occured to me! My intention has always been to transplant in something else, most likely a 6 pot or a turbo 4, but when you think what the M10 turned into in F1, and Group 5 racing, you wonder if it wouldn't be an idea to play with the original motor. I suppose depending on your power goals, first option would be an S14 engine, given the superior cylinder head, larger capacity, stronger block, but those engines price tag has risen to ludicrous levels, especially if alot of it has to be binned in order to get big power out of it.

M10's being strong engines I can imagine a lot is possible, bottom end is strong enough, breathing capacity at the top end is likely to be your bottleneck. Yes S14 would come in handy but prices are soaring alongside E30 M3 values
Quoting myself in the E30 section...
Dutchman Tim practically designed and built his S14 turbo conversion himself. Finally it was ready for the dyno. The result of the first run?

that is, most impressive to say the least. however whilst me budget will not stretch to S14 donor parts I have procured what is supposedly the best of M10 cylinder heads: the e30 1.8 fuel injection head. whilst the 8v is still restrictive compared with the s14, this should provide me with as much flow as can be squeezed from the 8v without serious machining!
