M10 Oil Sensor

Post by AaronSpeaker »

Today i hit a manhole and put a pretty good hole in my oil pan, i was wondering if the oil sensor would kill the motor if there was no oil (or low oil pressure?).
I didnt drive far with the hole, just far enough to pull off the street and park my car. As soon as i slowed to a stop the motor died. I turned it over once just to make sure it wasnt seized, which i dont belive it is, it started to turn but i didnt let try to start.
Thank you!

See my response to your wanted ad, no switch for the engine as far as I know but I think it quite as it lost its internal vacuum. Hope you don't have any damages but it sounds like the engine was off quite soon after it was struck.
