is there a wilwood rear caliper available?

Post by Gavin Martin »

hi all, as per title really - I have been looking at e30 rear calipers but would rather have wilwoods to match my fronts? is there a kit or caliper available that would fit?

thanks for any info

Interested in the same! To fit the 323 rear trailing arms.

Also depends for what purpose and what front setup you use. Believe mine are Wilwood Powerlite at the front, using stock size discs so not a full spec BBK, but in this setup the E30 rears are more than enough to obtain the optimal stopping power for the rear and that will be the same with similar calipers no matter what rotors, especially if it's for street use.

thank you for the info guys, my car will only be for road use but will be m52'd. the 323 rear calipers I have are rotten behond economic repair and the e30 ones I have knocking about are not much better. I know reasonable quality e30 calipers are about £90 each new but thought its probably worth spending a bit more and going for something a bit nicer to look at.

You can get solid disk size power lites. The this is you have to be careful as you'll need to fit a rear bias valve in.

I had e30 rear calipers on my old m52 with a bias pedal box and decent pads (can't remember which) there wasnt any problem with stopping.

If you compare the e21 to the e30 rear pads the e30 one has a much larger surface area.

The same as stated above .. go for the e30 rear calipers .. dead cheap and good pads available for them .. they give you decent stopping power for road use
