FIXED: Digital clock losing time

Post by davidvincent »

Hi all,

As per title, my clock keep losing time - around 10-15 mins lost per day.

Car is otherwise running great, and I'm not disconnecting the battery at any point, and the battery isn't low/drained.

Only other minor electrical things I need to resolve are:

- Intermittent indicator fault, where off-side rear doesn't flash - assume relay is on the way out.
- Hazard lights not working - assume the same relay as above is at fault (new oem switch installed not long ago).
- Boot light needs replacing.

I can't think that any of these small elec issues would have anything to do with the clock, but thought I'd mention all the same.

Thanks in advance.
Dave

So it turns out that this was a very simple fix after all.

As my hazard lights, interior light and boot light had all stopped working I gathered it could just be a shared fuse... which it was, so I replaced the blown fuse and then the lights all worked fine again.

Since then (on the off-chance) I've reset the clock and been monitoring (about a week) and it hasn't lost time since!

I can't tell you exactly why this happened, but either way - job done.
