Heavier E21 Pre Facelift

Hello everyone,
Does anyone know why a 1979 320i is 200 pounds heavier than a 1980 320i? When they both have the same options.

Pre facelift is less rigid so I guess they used less metal?

No, the TS says it is the other way around. That the pre facelift is heavier.

Interesting! So they found something to reduce weight, but where?

Different engine? 2.0 vs 1.8?

Alloy vs steel wheels?
Also isnt the later engine using more Aluminium?
My guess is the door trims and dash were also lighter.
