**update

Honed the other strut with an extension bar connected to the hone, this allowed me get all the way to the bottom of the strut.

The insert went in fine 😊 slight pressure required

Morale of the story....
if your bilstein b8 don’t fit in your 51mm strut then there is probably some heat distortion within the tube

A bit of patience, a hone and an extension bar will sort this and you will still be able to remove the insert in the future

You can't polish a turd.... but you can roll it in glitter!!!!

Thanks for feedback. I’m about to finish my job aswell with the front struts. I can’t understand why Bilstein doesn’t make the dampers abit smaller, it is so tight, not a mm gap.

I´ve finally managed to get my dampers in the struts. I tried to hone the inside to make the dampers fit, but it didn´t help at all. I couldn´t fint the proper hone, so I gave it up. So to make them fit, I sanded the the paint of the dampers, and that was enough to make them slide in. But it was a tight fit. I´m happy it did work out.
