I’m having a really hard time starting my 323i, and am nearly at the end of my wits, it’s just starting as it should do.
Having refitted it in the car and connecting all the electrical and hose connections correctly, I start it but it seems like it’s choking and doesn’t start until I remove the breather hose from the rocket cover which is also releasing a lot pressure and gas from the head.
If I try to startwith the pipe disconnected it will fire up after 10-seconds of turning and trying to fire, really sounds like it’s having breathing/ vacuum issues. It’s becoming a nightmare and I just want it sorted, am eager to drive it this summer after 12years of being parked in the garage being restored.
Im wondering if either the warm up regulator and cold start valve could cause these issues, as I haven’t checked these. I have replaced the air slide valve with a W & N unit (maybe this is causing an issue?) it’s feels like the vacuum system pressure isn’t operating as required, is there a component which controls this specifically?
Is there anyone with good knowledge or experience of the K jet system here that can assist a me in solving the problem?
Would really appreciate any help, running out of ideas on what’s causing this issue. I’m willing to pay to get this issue resolved from a specialist if anyone knows of someone near London.
Thanks in advance for any input guys
