Hi Guys,
I have a 1981 320/6,and still has a solex 4a1 carburettor, just recently out of know where it’s started to idle around 3000 rpm, it starts up on the button but the warmer it gets the idling gets faster till it reaches around 3000rpm, it’s been checked for any air leaks, checked all vacuum hoses, also the accelerator cable has been checked in case it was sticking and all fine.
If any of you guys out there have any ideas I would be very grateful for your help.
Many Thanks

Hey,
Do the valves come back into closed position? you can check this where you adjust the idle speed.
There is a spring controlled vacuumbox at the throttlevalve does the box work good?

Re: Solex 4a1 idling too high
Have you fixed the high idle issue on 4a1? My uncle is looking at this E21 with an intermittent high idle issue. We'll take a look at it after installing the suspension from 4Wheelonline onto his jeep Wrangler.
