Re: My car 318 76 model converting to 323i
Meyle is absolute rubbish, and OEM BMW is Febi-Bilstein, that is why you get the BMW logo and P/N etched out when you buy Febi through an aftermarket source. Perhaps polyurethane is an option now, with a bit of luck Strongflex offers them too, perhaps even in black PU? Otherwise you may want to ask them as they are quite flexible and can also offer custom made PU bushings.
But in your thought process you ae now switching to propshaft flex discs? Sofar the OEM examples have been good, but I'm not sure what brand OEM is these days. No experience with upgraded versions myself.

I tried to explain a few times why the BMW markings are etched off. Febi is OEM for this part.

For the driveshaft I have used Febi. Which is fine until now... When you are in there with the propshaft, remove/replace the bearing as well. Lift the covers and put some grease in there. As much as you can.

I wouldn't use Meyle. And keep the bushings! PU is nowadays a fine option.

Ok, then I can use Febi, just have to order one in. All the bearings on my car is new, I left no old ones behind. My car will practically be like a new car mechanical, just the body work which isn’t «new». There probably are minor rust somewhere, but I haven’t found any serious rust that needs attention now.Wilmo wrote: Mon Apr 15, 2024 6:52 pm For the driveshaft I have used Febi. Today I did the last sanding, the engine bay is now ready for paint.
I hope we can do it next weekend.

Paint is mixed and ready for the spray gun - It´s Alpinweiss II

Re: My car 318 76 model converting to 323i
Today I got "alot" of work done. I masked up the front, and painted it matt black, to avoid seing the white through the grill.
I then removed all the masking, and finally revealed the car after being painted, looks good
I fitted the wiring harness, in from the engine bay to mid back of the car, it´s abit of work, so I will try to finish it next time. I need to figure out where all the plugs is suppose to go, I didn´t mark them when I removed it from, the donor car. I will figure it out
I also got my WUR from K-Jet on friday, it looks brand new, it´s good to know that both the WUR and fuel distributor is calibrated and tested, so no worries when I eventually is ready to start the engine.
I forgot to make a whole in the inner wheel arch for the brake pad wear sensor, so I have to do it now, a big bummer I didn´t remembered before the painting was done

ID plate back in where it is supposed to be
