Hi, I'm thinking about what is the demand and availability of the 5-gears gearboxes now? Is it something still desired? Have you seen any recently for sale, if yes - where?
Have a nice day.

Yup, 5-speed gearboxes with integrated speedometer drive as required for the E21 are still rare and sought after items. But they do pop up on local craigslists and the likes.

Re: 5-gears gearboxes in 2025
Is it possible to find parts/service kits for the 5 speed?
I bought one to fit my 2.0 m10 that had been on a shelf a long time.
It was sent off for a refurb and they're having some trouble sourcing parts. It's now gone to a gearbox specialist in Stoke where they have the facilities to make parts.
Just hoping I can save the considerable expense of having bespoke 1 off parts made.
