My e21 Project - I need your Ideas mates

Post by SoulsThief »

Hello guys, I just registered in this forum, and wanted to share photos of my e21, and tell me what u think.

First, i will put some photos of the car as when I bought it

The car had an accident, and then I started thinking about some changes, so this is how it started to happen:

Actually, there are many steps that unfortunately i didnt take pix of, but i will describe what happened:

The car had an accident in the front, so we did CUT the car into two, and we got another front half with the chassis and welded it with the rear original one :). I had to sunroof in the original car, so we removed all the roof and replaced it with another one having a sunroof ;). Then the engine was changed to 2.7L engine, the gearbox is now same of 1987 325i, and some other changes like shock absorbers and so and so...

The car is not completed yet, we finished the paint and the mechanical work, still the electrical work to do, and assembling the accessories, this is how it is at the moment:

Ouppss, I forgot to tell that the colour was changed :)...

Now, I need ideas, brilliant ones, about rims, front bumper, rear bumper, because I am thinking about cancelling all the chrome from the car, like door handles and other things, i want to make it black, and the original bumpers have Chrome on it, so what do you think?

For the interior, I have a pair of new Recarro seats, and some nice other accessories, but I need to know what to do with the exterior guys.

Thanks, and hope u will like the car

Regards,

First, Welcome and nice work already.

What I would do is.

*BBS front spoiler and bonnet spoiler.
*The bumpers i would take the chrome ones but make the chrome part in the colour of the car and keep the rubber strip on it.
*The original chrome around the windows paint it black.
*15 inch wheels ( BBS RS or alpina's old style)

Dear Peter,

As you can see the car already has the Alpina old style rims, and it is a good idea to keep the same bumpers and cancelling the chrome, same with door frames and handles... I am thinking about Hamman rims, the five spokes ones, and the 316 front, not the double lights one...

Hey,

Regarding the wheels i ment the old ones without the centercap. So that you can see the bolts.

The 316 front i can understand but is it an idea to make the front like a hella look. This means the big 316 headlights and one size smaller in the center.

Looks like this:

Hello Peter,

I prefer the 316 look, and You are right about the Alpina rims, but I am still lost, donnow... But what to you think about the new colour? I have an E36 M3 evo, the 321hp which has this colour, I took it and did some changes on it, and put it on the e21...

Looks very nice. I must say that i am a originalfreak so would not choose a E36 colour.

Those wheels are almost similar to old Schnitzer types.

I prefer a little bit more rubber, those looks like 17 inch and i would say 15 inch. When i bought my E21 it had 15 inch BBS, looked like this.

Thx for the advice, actually i am planning for big wheels because i am bringing the car from Lebanon to Dubai, and I am planning to remove the M3 evo engine and fix it in the e21... we did it in lebanon before and the car performance was great. I know it is a long way to go, but i like to do it slowly...

regards.
