A quote of a quote, of a quote  .

I never noticed the e21s clock! Are there any other BMWs that have the clock there? Both my Bimmers have the later 80s interior where the clock is on the dash - e30 and e12 with e28 interior. I've driven an original e12, but I didn't notice the location of the clock.

Thanks Guys
Mathew

Hmm... might be different between countries.

I think that the clock was on the dash 'till -79 when the "facelift" was done, but I'm not sure if the digi clock came directly after though...

In Norway, the tacho was without the green color, and the clock was in the dash pre-facelift. After facelift it came with the LCD-clock mounted in the tacho (which came with the green color..).

Well, the tacho-clock is obviously a post-79 thing; thats why I didn't see one on the original e12 I drove that time, because it was a '75 model!

We also got the clock in the tacho down here, apparently, because under the section in here '323i 1980 Arnold', Madhatter posted up a pic of his late-build Aussie e21, and the clock was in the tacho. Only difference is that the buttons to set it with are on the opposite side due to RHD.

I'm just unobservant....

Cheers

Do you mean a special cluster for three aditional gauges. I'm working on it for few days. So far everything is going very good but now I have no time to finish it. I will let you know when it's done. I will add some pics too.

Many european 4 cyl E21's have huge analog clock instead of a rev meter.
