13 inch bbs trims, am i a bad person for buying hubcaps?

Post by tommi_e21 »

i just bought these to tidy up my 13 inch steels on my gold car, thought it worked out cheaper then spending money doing silly things like spraying all the wheels back to proper silver, will take some pics when they arrive and on the car

What?! Im confused. Are they genuine BBS items?

They look like RS centres? But 13"?! The smallest they made was the RS240: 14x6 which are serious rocking horse shit.

just looked on wikipedia and apparantly they used to make hubcaps for steels back in the day that where designed to improve airflow to the wheels. and BBS also make the carbon fibre aero wheel trims for the ferrari formula 1 cars. see hubcaps are cool!!!!!

"Another variant of the wheel cover is that commonly manufactured by the German wheelmaking brand BBS. These are attached on to the wheel first, then bolted on as if the driver/mechanic is bolting the wheel to his car in the manner of changing their wheel. Commonly made from aluminium, they are designed to distribute airflow, therefore generating downforce depending on the shape. Thus, these wheel covers are functional rather than merely decorative. Although they have been used since the 1970s, a carbon fiber variant has found its way into Formula 1 when it was used by Scuderia Ferrari whom BBS supply its wheels to."
