Nice write up of all blood, sweat and tears! Love your garage jack :mrgreen:

But that bump stop seems way too long to me.

Now over to the rear I presume? That's an easy one, 15 mins each side, just jack her up slightly and you can just grab the strut.

Whats that about my jack Jeroen ...... do i hear a slight ping of sarcasm ?? :D I have a sweet ratchet one that came with the car and a nice £15 shitter from Argos, they sure did the job!
As for the ARB Wizor, i found that i had to take it all off to give me enough movement in the control arm so i could un-do the bolt that held it to the cross member. As i mentioned in the pic on the write up, i struggled to get either sides bolts out due to the steering parts being in the way. I put those bolts back in backwards so i could extract them from the front if needs be again. Taking ARB off was more hassle yes, but it did the job

Well, Wednesday us upon us and work once again begins. Good news is ive managed to get it finished this avo. Took me around 2 hours which im quite happy with considering my caveman style tools. Have'nt tested it yet as its time for some food! Plus i need to sort the brakes out which have gone shit. Here's some more pics for y'all bitches

Nice job, car looks more purposeful now and some 15"ers will finish it off. Have you checked out the Lenzo replica's which do BBS's lookalike. Not sure on quality or weight but they do look good. Google (lenso retro) . BSX in Black would look the Dogs b....ks on your car 8)

Took a quick drive earlier but just kept it slow to check things out. The brakes are still playing up after bleeding them so think its time to get the new calipers on. Cant really give it a proper test till their sorted.
I had all the shocks on the softest setting and it appeared slighty stiffer than the stock setup. Was deffo no where near as much roll in tight corners. The kit cost me around 350, bump stops and dust shields were 30, so got a nice setup for under 400 quid which i dont thinks too bad at all. Took me around 11 hours to get it all on, but i could easily half that if i were to attempt it again. Feels very strange to drive with the drop but i like it. Will prob take it to the garage to get the tracking sorted on the weekend

£350 inc springs? thats a good price! where did you get it from?
just been looking on the spax site at the shocks, £102 for a front and £79 for a rear on there.
id like to combine it all with these on the front.....

thats the cheapest ive seen them! (mmmmm, me rubbing my chin.)

yeah, you take the shock out of the front leg and chop the spring seat collar off it completely, slip the threaded tube over the leg and weld round it. put the adjuster threaded rings on for the lower spring seat then buy a combo of those main springs and helper springs i posted up..... build the leg up and hey presto.
get to a drift day and drop the front down 2" in 5 mins, come leaving time, raise it back up again in 5 mins so you can get over speed humps on your way home without twatting your newly made sumpguard/exhaust! 8)

Rally designs are cheaper and you need to match the outer diameter of the struts to the inner diameter of the coilover sleeve. 323i legs are 51mm OD and need a gentle shaving with an angle grinder for the rally designs to fit on.

im liking this excellent thread! every lowering option gone into, along with gonzos excellent "how to" description and pics. :cool:
