why lol it just increases ur braking distance. just pump brakes with ur foot if u want abs, its just anouther unessary weight adding system to go wrong so that fools can drive cars without killing them selfs as often.

it wont increase it, not for the average person. Unless you are good at threshold braking, abs will shorten the stopping distance, its just a case of slam the pedal down and away you go. Its ofcourse a safety thing too, given you wont have a lockup.

Only thing I think you would have a problem with is finding somewhere to mount the wheel sensors, plus the disc it actually reads when it rotates.

the easy way would be top swap the complete suspension from and e30 and the abs gear.

Mounting the abs toothed wheel and sensors on e21 hubs pretty tricky

Concering the wheel-sensors, you could use E24 or E28 wheel-hubs and weld on a sensor-mount to the strunds.
I don't think you will have to use an E30 ABS-block (others will do aswell).

You migt also need to change the master brake cilinder (not sure).

When you come to me this week, we will figur it out with some ABS stuff i have in my garage ;)

The problem is, i've upgrade my brakediscs and pads. All are new.
Just the Orginal 323i but the better stuff..

Discs works pretty good but not so much that i expected.

My experiance is: Engine is too fast, and the brakes are too soft for the car to stop it. What kind of options do i have to make the brakes better.

not much that won't cost a fortune

cheaper options are

a parachute
transfer as much weight as possible to the rear
enormous tires

but most important is watching ahead and anticipating in traffic :)

Volvo 4piston callipers will do a great deal. A bigger master cilinder and steel-flex hoses Will improve the braking-power

Theres a post ont his forum somewhere, late E21's in I beleive the US were equiped with ABS.

If you want better braking, indeed the volvo 4pots are a good upgrade. Also the Brembo's from Alfa GTV 6

As was said above, look ahead, anticipate and do not drive as fast. I do not have ABS on my E28 525e, it is the first car I have had without ABS. Initally I was worried about that as it is my daily driver but now I would never retrofit the system. Now I have done the e to i conversion and fitted and manual box, and shorter diff I still won't be doing a brake upgrade simply because while driving at sensible speeds the stock brakes are nore than adaquate.

If your brakes are too soft you have something wrong with your braking system or you just need calipers that can deliver higher braking torque. Fitting ABS will not do the latter it will just pulse the brakes preventing them locking up completley. Braking distance may therefore be a bit shorter than properly modulated stock brakes.

Remember you only need improved brakes if the speed you are braking from is higher, if you use you engine to take to legal speeds just quicker then the stocks brakes will be jsut fine.

what a load of crap advice. i dont think this guy wants to drive slower to solve his braking inadequacies.

upgrade the front disks to larger diameter ones, and get some alloy 4 pot callipers (eg volvo, or theres plenty of other brands which make decent callipers, ie nissan 200sx/skyline, porsche - brembos, mazda rx7, etc...)

search this forum, there are plenty of brake upgrade threads with details.
