Fitted my rims and checked out my brakes today.

I do have some kerb rash that needs attention though...

I'm well pleased with the EBC Greenstuff pads. They work really well from cold and there's a lot less brake dust to contend with.

Solid rears

Plan for tomorrow is to collect a new throttle position switch for the injection and order battery isolation switch. Mind you, because of my injuries I find it hard working on cars. Just swapping wheels today totally shattered me.

MSW's but thanks anyway. I'm thinking of having centres done in anthracite but leaving the polished rim. What do you think?

This sort of colour and finish.

Gutted! I took my car out to test the injection after the repairs and these alloys are rubbing on all 4 arches. Where my car is so much lower than the Baur the 195/50's are just too big. I guess I could buy a slightly wider tyre with an even lower profile but 195/45 is all I have been able to find and a set of 4 is 200 quid or thereabouts. So, after all that work swapping them over I am going to have to swap them all back again.

I like both so it's not that much of an issue to be honest. I was happy to have the extra bit of ride height from the 15's as there are so many speed humps where I live and the exhaust scrapes.
I was more annoyed about the fact that I had swapped all the wheels over on my own and I have a really bad back and leg since my accident. It was bloody hard work for me to be frank. I'm going to pay a tyre fitter 20 quid to swap them back again.

Postman brought the battery isolator I got on e-bay.

Image

£12.50

Once fitted - so simple even I can do it - the only connection to the battery is via the wired fuse holder. That means that there is enough current for stereo codes or clocks etc, but if anyone were to crank the engine the fuse would blow and immobilise the car completely. I've got a crook lock device too and eventually I'll get a decent alarm.

Looks like the car is just very low, otherwise 195/50 tyres do not cause problems. For the rest I still like her, wish you could buy conversions for that kinda money (and yes please in the same condition!) over here.

Starting to think I should switch to RHD too!

It's about as low as is practical really. I do love the ride height so just going to have to stick with the Alpina rims.

I'd go right hand drive if I were you. You could always convert it to LHD?
