Hey,

Looks like a nice car, Keep it in good shape and enjoy the ride.

What was located under the rear bumper ( two holes)?

It's the color of the car. (color code 085)
Color was for the early E21's and sure is nice.

Electric chrome mirrors  love them!!
One tip, replace the windscreen things :-) in the rear window rubber, when they are new it looks even better.

Very nice car - the up date off your rear bumper is the best you could do!
I specially like white at e21's. Sometimes it isn't the right color, but for an e21 it is very nice.
Is your aircon still working?
Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall. Torque is how far you take the wall with you.

had it 5 months. A/C is the next project, not working but other than that it runs excellent. Bumpers must have been done by previous owner. Head was rebulit recently too. Great records back to when it was imported and serviced by Hardy & Beck in Berkeley, CA (even came with a print out of the Road & Track article from Sept 81 about their work with importing the 323i). No one around here in Colorado has ever seen one.

Good looking 323, I too have one the same colour. Do you have power steering? - I ask because of the small steering wheel. Is one electric mirror an option?

no power steering. I just replaced that steering wheel for a larger 3-spoke sport too since the one in the picture folded at the top. I think the drivers mirror may have been replaced but the passenger one isnt working anyway.

Nice car and nice pics! 8) Makes me home sick :( Quick question...Has the D.O.T. changed the rules on 5mph bumpers? If they have Im really p...ed off! I had several e21s back home and they all had to have those massive eye sores! I couldn't pass inspection with the chrome ones unless it was a grey market brought over by the soldiers.

Hey Thanks! I'm enjoying it =). Inspection depends on the state. In MD for instance they are very strict and you can't even have any leaking hose or 'worn' wipers! Here in Colorado you just have to pass an relatively easy smog test. just leaned it waaaaaayyyy out for the test and passed with ease.

Looks great :-D

The 323i must be a pretty rare car in the States?
I don't think BMW ever sold it...
