Short shifter

Post by 7800rpm »

I'm going to buy the UUC motorsport Evo 3 short shifter. It seems to be the best, even if the most expensive.
My question is, i have to take the same part of the E30 M3, right? 320is and M3 share the same getrag dogleg transmission or i'm wrong?
Other improvement to the gear change and reliabilty?

Thanks

Yep you need the M3 version. You know the stock Z3 shiter also means a huge improvement?

Further improvements? Check the wire that comes into the cabin alongside the shifter. It's for the reverse light and if the insulation damages it can lead to all sorts of electrical problems.

More? How about the bushings for the gearbox support bracket? Replace them with the solid E24 examples to keep things more steady. You'll just need to drill to holes from 6 to 8mm and they will fit.

i know this is a bit old but just make my own short shift kits, all you have to do is weld a bar between the ball and linkage connection which extends the throw, you can make it as long or as short as you want
