Saw Dave's track e21 today when I got my struts for the coilover conversion.

Looks even better in the metal and hopefully will be at Ace on the 30th.

Just need to box up the struts and post them to Gaz.

Decided just yellow mains looks better. Especially with clear indicators. Also means I have 2 spare covers for the 316.

Image

Going to have 195/50's fitted on the front tomorrow and had planned 205/50's on the rear but there's just not enough room with the rear so low. I guess I can take another look once the coilover conversion has been done?

Hens teeth.

Just fitted Pirelli P5000's up front (195/50's) and left the 55's on the rear. I can still get over speed humps without my exhaust catching and no more issues with the front wheel-arch either. 8)

Just come to the conclusion that front struts are a right bastard to wrap up!

With a bit of luck Santa should be bringing them back again when they're all done. 8)

Anyway, it's a late model 316 and is 100% original having spent 10 years or so, sat idle in a barn on a farm in NW England. It's done just over 40,000 miles and never been welded, painted or bumped.
What it does need, is a new coil or ignition module as the original gave up after such a long period not being used. I have found one at GSF though and I'm also going to fit a new battery. I also need to tax it but I want to get the few bits and pieces done first.

Delivered.

Absolutely rock solid everywhere!

Even the chrome is near perfect.

Drives really nicely too! Been lucky enough to find 2 'keepers'. :D
Mark, are you sure the mileage is genuine 40k....the drivers seat doesnt really reflect that.

Going by the bills, MOT records etc, yes. It feels nice and tight to drive too.

However, even if it's not, it's important enough for me to worry about anyway. I've just had it thoroughly inspected and it's in great condition with no rust or rot so as long as it keeps going I'm happy enough.

what a beauty. i hope she loves the car as much as you would.
my 316 is a genuine 65,000 and my drivers seat is shagged. when i went to get my car i took my mate who was a mechanic for bmw (for 7 years back in the nineties) and he reckons the e21 seats were well known for this. my seat is firm, etc, but the material has dropped to bits on the drivers seat!

Just got back from Broadstairs in Kent with this little beauty.

Image

Not quick enough for a rev counter!

Image

FULL service history!

Image

The interior has been hidden away under seat covers for years so hopefully will be pretty mint?

Image

The neighbours are not exactly pleased at my having 3 e21's sat out the front though.

We saw this little gem on the way down.
