my 316 e21

Post by colix »

Hello ,
here is my project car, a 77 316 e21.
I bought this car because I wanted to do some oldtimer rallys.
The car was not in good condition, there was lot of rust on the bodywork and the engine was not running.
Image.
Last year I decided to completely renew the car.
so the bodywork begin :

when I saw the rust everywhere,(I don't show everything), I decided to do a complete modification to a true rally car.
2.5l engine
Image
fully welded rollcage

font uniball control arms

e30 big LSD(heavy modification!)

e30 diff need big work:
widened rear controls arms
cut a part of the body because the e30 diff is mutch bigger.
weld new diff mounts.
the original fuel cell will be too big and I will have to put a fuel cell into the trunk.
more will come
coil over suspension
sport seats
harnesses
brakes

Hey,

Welcome here,

That has been a lott of work allready. Keep it up because it looks to me that this could be a nice E21.

here some photoshoots I took this morning.
I can take more if needed...
the main problem with e30 diff is lenght of half arms.
that's why I had to wide the rear arms of 12mm.
with that modification it will run perfect
