Just bought a rear cage for my car. Got it cheap as the bolt-in diagonal is missing. I wouldn't have fitted it anyway so doesn't bother me. Anyway, cost me a tenner and it's only just down the road to collect it. I'm going to paint it body colour to contrast with the black interior.

I almost bought some early e24 wing mirrors but got pipped at last minute. The chrome was a bit dull and I'd planned to paint them to match too. I might still do it if I can find a pair cheap enough but even the one's I was after reached 40 quid.

Even came with a roll cage and a selection of front and rear spoilers!
Apart from that, the 316 is running fine - or was till the throttle cable snapped. Got a new one for £3.16 from GSF so I'll fit it in the morning and give the carb' a tweek while I'm at it.
The 323i goes into the bodyshop at the end of the week with a bit of luck and hopefully the leather rear seat will be in by tomorrow night.

Fitted the bargain price throttle cable to the 316 but at some point the fitting on the bulkhead had been bodged so I had to get a little creative and a 10 minute job turned into an hour long one. Anyway, it's all done now and the cars running smoothly again.
I have decided to bin the standard carb' though and fit a 28/36 Weber once I can find one. The standard carb' is making the engine idle a little fast and no amount of adjustment takes it below 1000rpm. It'll have to do for now though but hopefully it won't be too long till a Weber shows up. I guess I could fit another Solex but I can't be arsed getting my hands dirty to fit one of those really.
The leather rear seat showed up this morning but I'm going to give it a good clean and feed the leather before I fit it. It's in great condition though and should look great once the headrests are on and its in the car.

Well, I couldn't wait so I'll have to clean the seat inside the car.
It fit's - well sort of - although the back rest needs a bit of manipulating to hook on properly. The problem I have is that I'm a bit too big to fit in the back at the best of times, let alone wrestling with a bloody back seat!
I'm 100% certain about dyeing the carpet black once spring gets here though. If anyone else has similar plans maybe we can group buy a gallon or 2 of black dye and save a few pennies?
