Spent an hour examining the turbo set-up prior to getting stuck in and cleaning it all up. Also gave me the chance to work out what goes where etc.

I've got another inlet manifold thats been powder coated black and looks much better. Just need to swap bits over.

All the pipe work seems OK, just very grubby. Obviously the hose section will all be replaced with new silicon stuff.

There's a chip in one of the turbo vanes but I want a new turbo anyway.

The intercooler looks OK although I might have to use a different one depending on how much room I have in the engine bay?

There's a bit of work to do here...

Well, at least I've made a start.

what are you going to use to run that (what looks like) a 7th injector in the manifold?

It is a 7th injector, the early motronic was combined with this, mark may have trouble with starting his car in the mornings (when cold), also once the turbo is fitted it will need a rolling road to correct its fueling otherwise it will run like a pile of shit cos in the rev range it will need more adequate fuel to play with the turbo... this is when mark will probably spend approx £800 squid to correct the fueling . from what i remember years back it was like £50 an hour on the rollers to re-map the ECU, some times you may get lucky and only a few hours but can go thru till next day bare in mind you will need loads of fuel aswell...so its not always plug and play. this is why i cant be bothered anymore, once you mod a car you have to go to town with it to the extent to which is money .money. money.... best person to take this kit mark is ant from the E30zone.. he can fit that up for you and also he has many generic maps he can fit one rather than rolling road it just to get you going... he will suggest you fitting a standalone, but i cant see the point cos your not dropping the compression and you wont gain that much away.. keeping the motronic and boltinf the turbo kit is better, or else your be messing about with a further £600 on supply and fitment of megasquirt.... again, more money.... if anyone says fit standalone dont bother, motronic can handle this kit, also get to fit a MAF like what i have there is not air restrictions better for you i reckon......

I'm already in touch with him - like you say, there's no point in dropping compression or running stand alone as its only a low pressure set-up. That's partly why the Motronic can cope with it without too many issues.

This is all just research at the moment anyway. I'm also looking into super-chargers and Nitrous as alternatives.

when i get round to turboing mine i'll be running v similar to what you have here. need to do the pedal box thing first tho, like drjims to make room for my plans. this sort of thing is what guna do.

7th injector in the inlet manifold is a cold start injector as its from a motronic 1 engine.

Dropped my car over to Mick @ Pristine Bodyworks today to have my wheel arches rolled and spoiler painted. Then goes to Dave & Jimmy @ RPM for the coilovers. Hopefully, it should be back next weekend.

hi mark, just a thought when you fit your coilovers are you not having a stiffer spring load if so would that not help with your tyre rubbing arch issue thus you wont have to roll the arches

I'm going to do both mate. Just so I have the option of dropping it into the weeds if I want to.
