we are now fully spaxed up! had a couple of problems tho.
the n/s leg a was chipping rust off the bottom spring seat and made a hole about 3mm wide by 15mm next to the strut tube. how it was holding that corner of the car up i dont know.
made a repair patch and welded it in at work. :D
also had an irritating 20 mins trying to get the little split pin out of the n/s track rod end. success in the end tho.
took about an hour and a half putting it back together.

cant wait to drive it later. 8)

the front is around 10mm higher, which is fine with me.
the rear is still too high for my liking. i dont want to cut brand new springs!
thinking of modifying the mount on the wishbone somehow to lower the position it bolts to....... :?

but oh how its handles!
gone is the crashy bumpy bottomingoutness it had.
hello sex! feels at tight as a fresh 16 year old, but without the winging of how much it hurts!
seriously tho, been for a half hour drive. its the equal second best thing we've done to it so far.
best being the 325i lump. other second best being the welded diff!
im loving my e21 here!

I hear ya! I know I'm biased but I do think e21's are great drivers cars once they suspension and diff have had a bit of a tweak. Certainly not as snappy on the limit as a standard car. I actually enjoy driving in the rain now whereas before it was a bit of a chore.

well mine rattle too! im sure its just the stiffness of the shocks giving the rubber in the top mount an extra good workout.

have you tried turning the stereo up??

im taking mine apart again tomorrow to cut a coil out of the rear springs. ill get some pics of how ive done it then. :)
