There's no difference in seal length. Windscreen frame is same all e21.

Thnks, that was to be expected, but this is not the first report of a seal that is too long. Should it be pushed more into the corners and will that take up the slack? Or are businesses supplying incorrect parts or even complete rubbish?

I would go for the new plastic filler strip. Its not so expensive, looks a million times better, and not as hard as all that to install.

Do yourself a few favors:

- use an installer tool like this one: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/lil- ... oC4Yfw_wcB

- put the strip somewhere nice and warm ahead of time so it gets softer and more flexible. lay it on the dash of a car with the windows rolled up on a sunny day :). you could also have a hair dryer handy to preheat small areas ahead of the corners.

- silicone spray or soapy water spray bottle works great for lube

Maybe someone has a oem seal and can make picture of it? Want to know does it have a shape? Because the one i have has no shape, it;s completely round, it has no bottom or top. Today spent couple hours trying to put glass into it, but still it's not inside. it's not going any further. i'm thinking maybe it's because seal is shapelless?
Or maybe it's because it's first time i'm doing this :D
