Thanks for that Jim. I can't tell you how much better I feel knowing it's not only me that that stuff happens to. :)

Hopefully this sunny weather will still be around when you start driving the Baur!

Hopefully the sunny weather lasts a while - just cooking Dinner and noticed a large puddle of water under the boiler, central heating circuit has sprung a leak, fortunately it has leaked all over the tiled kitchen floor, but it'wasn't in my plan for tomorrow.

It now looks like a car, needs a bit of touching up to the paint and proper cleaning.

Bare shell was actually two years ago - I suspect I will win a worlds slowest restorer even though a load of Mates came and helped award!

Hopefully get 5-6 hours on it tomorrow, in the home straight!

Managed to get the interior back together, ECU wires a bit sticky out in the passenger footwell, but can live with it.

Started filling the rad with water/antifreeze when I heard a gushing noise. Further inspection located Murran's post-it with "little hose from back of block to throttle body finding and fitting" written on it. I'll be using some fuel hose I have spare.

I need to do that hose, bleed clutch, tighten rear hub nuts and fit pins, connect battery, add petrol to tank and see if it works. Sadly the central heating leak was more of a problem so I am working throughout my week off to raise cash for a new boiler. Car will be done soon, it's been 2.5 years already so a couple more weeks won't be a disaster. Have my eyes on a merc 500SEL to play with next.

Managed an hour today, dismantled the inlet side of things to fit that hose, made a bracket to hold the AFM (flipped as per Gonzo), sprayed it with some paint and then while it was drying poured some more water into the header tank. It all came out again - hose to header has no clip on it at the pump end. Very tricky to get at from the top with a bonnet fitted, ramp was full of a Ka, so fiddled with it until I got the jubilee clip in place, and it still leaks. Not sure if it's that hose or another. Need it on the ramp so I can see where the water is coming from.

Decided to have beer tonight instead of workshop, working Tues/Thurs and out weds.Friday night and then if I can convince the Wife, I'll get it finished at the weekend. It really is down to piddling little jobs and snagging now. Good news is I have enough cash to pay for a new boiler now.

What hose is that??

There's hoses that come to/from the throttle body with water in, the two that connect the brake booster to vacuum, and the ICV air connection. Don't tell me there's another feckin hose there!

Given that you are somewhat ahead of me on the M20B25 front I'll wait to hear which hose I don't know about is the likely problem!

Its in the middle and underneath the inlet manifold throttle body. I just cut mine and blocked it with a wheel bolt and jubilee. I think its number 18 on this diagram.

I've got that one fitted, what I'm not certain of is what is connected up to the water pump properly. Between me and Murran there's been a bit of sticking hoses on without clips meaning they leak everywhere. Need to get it on the ramp so I can look at it.

Yep it's an E21 pump so far as I recall. suspect that means there's nowhere for that hose to connect to and I need to blank the cursed thing off!
