thanks- i can see the light at the end. its still very far away but i can see it. i thought that the body work was gonna kill me but its actually coming along nicely, as you can see. once this is done the real fun begins. i get to do a rearend swap and a 6 cylinder swap all at the same time. woo-hoo

dropped the head off at the machine shop this a.m.- was told that it looked ok from just eyeballing it. it wasnt showing any of the tell tale issues, so fingers crossed

so i got the call back from the machine shop- the ehad looks great. they said it was remarkably well kept for a head of that age. said one intake valve is no good and all the seals need replacing. not to bad. :D
its gonna run about $300 for all the work and the new parts. i just wish i had someway of convincing the missus that i NEED the new shrick cam for the motor. any suggestions

tell her it will make the car more economic because of the increased timing angle and valve lift during the compression stroke of the combustion cycle will allow a better burn requiring less fuel.

its kinda true but we all know it uses more fuel and makes it faster

Make it worth her while, say when it's done you'll take her away somewhere for a sexual (I mean romantic! ) getaway
