well skidding day went well at first despite finding out by way of dripping that our petrol tank isnt too shit hot!
did some good drifting on the lockstops balancing it on the throttle nice at times. then tom had about 4 runs one after the other.
after that the clutch pedal started with a sence of humour having an intermittent pedal then no pedal. looking under the bonnet there was no fluid left! on topping it up and not being arsed to get under the car and bleed it up we had half a pedal.
i then did a couple of runs and monstered it gave it some abuse! linked the course for about 4 laps, really got into it. was well chuffed with myself. exhaust sounds great too! :)

on the plus side the engine with the new motronic installed ran like a german watch was perfect lots on grunt revs lovely. :)

looks like wiz0r has a good s/h fuel tank for me, so thats good.
but ill have to get my hand in my pocket for a new master and slave cyl. for the clutch tho.

after pissing around with the car trailer this time having to do 50mph there and back 200 odd miles due to my touring just plain towing too much weight.
weve decided that were guna tax/test/insure it and drive it to drift days! cus itll just be easier and more fun! unsure when this will be happening yet cus i need to sort the tank and clutch out
it needs more welding to the front anti roll bar mounts for an mot too.......and i need to work out where to put a rear number plate!!

Need to gear myself up to take on the project, bad time now winters already upon us.

well got wiz0rs very decent tank thru the post, gave it a good rub down on the rusty bits at work. then gave the bare metal bits a good etch primeing. took the tank home, was going to spray it red just because i have a can of vauxhall flame red in my shed. but didnt have enough so when i ran out of red i moved on to the next can in my shed..... ford metallic petrol blue..... so it looks a little graffiti spec. will post some pics up at some point.
got it bolted up the other night and all is ok! cheers again rob.

I am going to paint my fuel tanks using a can of Gold hammerite that has been sitting around in my cellar for two years. Might do some of the suspension bits the same for a bit of fun.

Bearing kits arrived, look OK. Packaged by Lancer components of Walsall, kit contains seals, a sachet of grease and two bearings which are packaged in Nachi made in Japan boxes. Also stamped Nachi / Japan on the bearings.

drift day was so much fun its untrue!
apart from the suspect rear shocker that i didnt have time to change going all f*** and a healthy thirst for 20w50 the car loved it and was faultless!

ive now fitted wizors rear shocks that he very kindly let me have. i love him and i havent even met the bloke!

got plans in the pipe line for doubling up the antiroll bars, splashing out on a full set of uprated shocks and also getting hold of an early 325i engine. and also fitting the new rear wishbones i won on ebay the other month.

may take some time tho as im not "fresh" atm!
