14" e30 BBS Alloys

Post by Red Mist »

Hello, I'm a newbie here so excuse me if I ask some stupid questions!

Picking up an 1981 320 this weekend and want to get some new wheels on it.

Have found a ridiculously cheap set of 14" e30 BBS alloys and am wondering what I'll have to do to make them fit on my e21?

Thanks,
Neil

you will need spacers, don't really know what size cause I don't know how much offset the wheels have!
I took the corner at high speed, came in the ditch, drove straight through a garden, flipped over 4 times and then I lost control of my steering-wheel!

Most of the standard E30 BBS wheels have an offset of ET 25.

14" BBS are around ET30, 20mm spacers would be a safe bet

my 15's are ET24, but i find running 5mm spacers the best. i'd have thought 10-15mm for the OP, i know it wouldn't be "perfect" offset, but the larger the spacer, does it not cause excess wear to wheel bearings?

Thanks guys. 2nd part of the question then - is there a supplier that makes particularly good spacers?

Cheers

seem quite good. i don't even have hubcentric ones on mine and there is no wheel wobble, but i'm only running 5mm.
