f'ing sunroof

Post by tyson 320i/323i »

i started a job that i am really wishing i didnt now. went to remove the sunroof to check the cables and look for any rust. found some rust- no shock there. greased the cables and the rails. now when i go to reinstall the sunroof and slide it back to reinstall the left and right guide rails the cable lift themselves out of the track and become completely off the track. lets not even get started about the headliner issues. what am i doing wrong here. im following the manual step for step, but there is no mention of how to keep the cables in the track to reinstall the guide rails. please help- i am very close to welding the damn thing shut
