Hi,
I have the 316 Classic 1.8
Is it possible to upgrade the E21 standard 316 to have power steering, I been told that the M10 engine will need a bracket/ mount inorder to hold the steering pump. If so where can I get this bracket / make one?

If not I ll make the wife do pressups to gain extra mussle in bicieps...
Thanks.

Buy them at the dealer
if the set came from a m20 you need the brackets at the side, the alternator brackert should swap over

This is what a e21/m10 power steering pump and bracket looks like ..you could use a pump and bracket off a e30 m10 but you would have to change the connection on the hose from the pump to the rack..either way you will have to fit a tripple pulley to the front of you engine in place of the single pulley normally fitted ..edd..

you can also use the pump of E-28 ... i think it should fit with its original brackets ... maybe some minor modifications could help .... i have done this with my E-21 when i destroyed my power steering pump ... i got an E-28 one
