lowering the E21
Hi all again,
I have the 316 standard
What is the correct centermeters I can lower the car without it crashing on speed bumps too much? If I change the springs will I have to change the back and front shocks? if so which ones should i get. cheers.

Re: lowering the E21
-60mm should be fine. Any lower and you might want to see if you can raise the exhaust slightly or fit skid plates / turn U-bolts sideways?

Re: lowering the E21
anything lower then 40mm requires special short shock absorbers.
otherwise -60mm looks and drives great.

Have a read through that thread mate, me and a couple of people on here have the Spax -60mm setup and personally i think its quality stuff, and compared to the prices of Gaz or Bilstein its an affordable alternative. (I dont work for Spax

No-one afaik. You really need coilovers to go lower or a grinder. Go much lower and the ARB will start grounding out along with the exhaust.

Re: lowering the E21
I have spax 60/40 also I like it alot, but i wanted a little lower in the front 5mm or 10mm more maybe. When I look at my stance it seems to me that I need to go down a touch more in the front every time i look at it, its pretty much even with 20mm difference. I lowered my car i realize I'm getting more and more picky I am definitely going to need some coil overs if I cant find some springs. I don't grind or touch any where I go.
