Guys
I'm trying to figure out how the PAS pump adjuster works. I dismantled the bits from the seized engine in the Baur about 2 years ago, and clearly can't remember how it worked. The pump appears to fit directly onto the alternator mounting bracket (PAS version has another set of mounting points for the pump), but none of the adjuster bits I have seem to fit in any logical way - I can't figure it out. I have a straight adjuster bar off an alternator, and a shorter one with a 45 degree bend in it which I think is off the PAS originally, but how on earth does it go together? Looked at realoem but that looks like the bracket has extra bits on it - in fact the whole lot looks different to what I have. The alternator bits I have look different too!
Please can someone with a M20 engined car with PAS grab me some pictures of their setup so I can figure out what is wrong or what bits I am missing.
Thanks
Jim

Re: PAS pump mounting/adjuster
I got a PAS setup on my tidy baur, I'll try to get a pic over the weekend if I'm able too.

Re: PAS pump mounting/adjuster
when i ripped mine out i didnt notice any sort of adjuster directly on the PAS pump. im pretty sure that the adjustment happens via the alternator. i have a spare pump, so let me knw if u need it m8.

Re: PAS pump mounting/adjuster
Checked on Real OEM to be sure; I know mine (an '82 323i manual) has a separate adjusting mechanism for the PAS pump that looks identical to the one on the alternator.
The third of the Real OEM pics seem to confirm this; this was also used on the E30 323 & 325, IIRC. Maybe your one is the bracket in the second pic, which appears to be fixed, with no apparent adjustment.
