rev counter not working

Hi Guys,

I've got a problem with my rev counter. maybe you guys could help me out...

I swapped my k-jet engine for a 2.7i with motronic (head is from a 320i e30) everything is wired up and the car runs fine...
but i've got one smal problem: my rev counter isn't working. I tried a couple of things...

-tried 2 different rev counters --> Didn't work
-I connected the black wire to the small black wire (pin 15) on the e30 engine loom.. just like the wiring charts wich are found on the internet and on this forum
-this certain wire does give a signal and while accelerating, the signal changes.
-the + wire gives live (12 volts)... I checked that.
-the - is grounded properly

everything seems to be ok. but it won't work.
what could it be? maybe I have to change the Resistors on the rev counter like the m50 swaps? please help me out....
