Searching for my lost love E21 320/6 CDT 74T

Post by polymoog »

Hi there as a new member to this forum (but not to bmw's) i would like to find one of the greatest cars i ever owned a 1979 BMW E21 320/6 in henna red, registration CDT 74T
I bought the car in Sheffield and also sold it there after owning it for a couple of years. Approx 20- 22 years ago.
i would really like to know if the car still exists and also any chance of buying it back!!!!

I know its a long shot but if you don't ask............

The car was fantastic and i have always admired them since, so here goes nothing.....

does any one on this forum know of this car, Where it lives etc .
If it is some ones pride and joy then i would be happy just to see it again after all these years even if you could just post a pic or two on here.

I have some old photos my self somewhere at home and if i can find them i will scan them and put them on this forum myself if of interest to anyone

many thanks in advance
Geoff

it could have dropped thru the "taxed or sorned " net and be sat in someones garage somewhere gathering dust, it does happen, cars resurfacing after years in a lock up...... but theres a v slim chance of that tbh.

you say its a sheffield car? im from sheffield, can you remember where the guy was from you sold it too?

i really loved this car ive had so many since (20 Years +) but i always remember the smooth purr of that engine!

I bought it from The place that was richardsons motorcylce shop near the fire station at manor top, and it was £1895 kept her for around 2 years and sold it to a guy who lived at woodseats.
I only sold her to buy a pug 205 1.9 (well i was young and daft then)
thanks Geoff

Just an update to this thread, since listing this a couple of weeks ago i have scoured every website and auction site classified ads etc in search of a decent E21 for the right money.
It had to be red to match the one i used to own.
One of the best was Dan320is 's car and i was so close but i really wanted a manual and the cost of converting it would have made it too much for me, sorry mate no hard feelings i hope!

Any way as patience is not one of my strong points i decided to widen the goal posts a bit.

so here is my latest "ride" an E28 528i

Same colour but with back doors!!!!!!

the price was so cheap i couldn't walk away, and although not a minter she won't need much work to bring her up to scratch

so it looks like ill have to join the E28 forum now......... shame!

Many thanks

hehe no shame in an e28 mate! :) always wanted a motorsport version. As far as Im concerned, that is still a proper BMW unlike the stuff they make these days. Nice buy! enjoy( loose the chrome arches though. hehe

Nice E28. I like those as well 8)
Indeed loose the chrome arches, get some nice wheels, and it'll be great.

I've got an e28 fetish as well... mines a 525...

Mines a bit of an old dog though. Saved a day before it went on the slow boat to China.... No back seat, no carpet, no headlining, no bumpers and slamed to the floor actually make for a fun car! Just got to weld up the diff and fit a 3.5.
82'e21 323i... Gone... need another.. soon
85'e30 323i... the slow boat to China
86'e28 525i... I might actually start using this soon
