front lower apron - always black

Hi,
After not having a lot of luck with another forum,
did all E21 lower aprons come out black? I have a 315 that has the lower part painted to match, and I'm unsure if this is factory or not. It looks like it is to me, yet I was sure that they always came out black.

From the factory, the lower end was always black.

I've a henna red 316 and the lower bit is black. Slightly difficult to see on this pic but..
