Help here .. I have a 1983 m10 e21 320i .. i have removed everything for the head gasket replacement .. have al the gaskets to replace everything i think . however there are 2 hose connections i have not found where they go..
one on the back of the head closest to the firewall.. sticking out of the head and the other seems to be a water hose coming off the back of the water punp line headed to the heater..
Any help here would be appreciated

Your pictures i can't see but it could be that you the hoses are for the heater of the car. The connecttions comming through the firewall.
The heater has two hose-connections. One from the head and one from the thermostathousing.
The hose from the head is the feed towards the heater. In the 320/6 and 316 of us there is a valve between which is connected with the panel inside for the temperature of the heater. There are type's of heaters that that valve is inside the car on the inner side of the firewall.

the one is actually on the block no ton the head its a small hose, the one from the back of the water pump is as well

do they go to the throttle body? some throttle bodys have a coolat heat bit in them....

the small outlet closest to the front of the car runs to the underneath of the throttle body. The one closest to the firewall runs to the side of the throttle body.
